You’re halfway through 2026. That’s six months of emails sent. Some that connected, some that got crickets, and probably a few you’d write differently now.
Before you plan the rest of your year, it’s worth spending 20 minutes looking at what actually happened. Not because you need to hit a benchmark, but because your data already has a story in it. You just need to know where to look.
Where to find your email data in Flodesk
My favorite way is this: Go to your Emails tab and switch to list view. Click the Status column header to sort by Sent. Your emails will line up in order by date, and you’ll see the open rate and click rate for each one at a glance.
That’s your mid-year picture, right there.
What you’re looking for
You’re not hunting for your best number. You’re looking for patterns.
Which emails got clicks, and which got crickets? Was there a subject line style that consistently pulled people in? A topic that flopped every time? Were there weeks you went quiet? And did your numbers reflect it?
Write down three things you notice. Just three. That list is the start of a better second half.
Then ask yourself the harder questions
The data shows you what happened. These questions ask you why and what you want to do differently.
- Am I emailing consistently enough for my list to actually remember me?
- Are my emails genuinely useful to my audience, or am I filling a calendar slot?
- Has my list grown this year, and if not, why not?
- If a new subscriber joined today, would their first impression reflect what I actually do?
There’s no right answer here. The point is to be honest, because what you notice in your own data is more useful than any industry benchmark.
Not sure what your numbers are telling you?
If you’ve had a look and you’re not sure whether your open rates are healthy, why your click rates are low, or what to do differently in the second half of the year, that’s exactly what a Flodesk training session is for.
In 45 minutes, we can go through your analytics together and leave you with a clear picture of what’s working and a practical plan for what’s next.
